Bespoke (pronounced bee-spoke) is a term used in the United Kingdom and other English speaking countries to refer to a custom-made product or service. The term itself is derived from bespeak which refers to the ordering of goods. Traditionally applied to tailored clothing, the term can also be applied to custom-made upholstered furniture home furniture including sofas, chairs and stools, which can be individually upholstered in the same way that a suit can be tailored.
Beds are typically applied using a wooden frame to which padding synthetic followed by spring and damping mechanisms. Once the foundation is complete, the bed is then at a range of synthetic, natural or mixed fibers, or leather. At each stage of the process craftsmanship than many of the techniques required to produce each component part of the sofa required are highly specialized and require extraordinary attention to detail.
