Of the various types of flooring, hardwood flooring is considered as one of the most prestigious form of flooring. It is a relatively easy and cheap to buy material, wood, but the finished product is pompous. There are basically two types of wood floors, as described below.
Solid wood: This type of flooring is dried from a single piece of wood, the stove or in the air before sawing is milled. It is installed over a concrete floor. The wood from which it is derived, can be used in three ways, a flat-sawn, quarter-sawn, cut and tear-be. The type of flooring you would like to apply determines the way the wood should be cut. After this process, the wood unfinished, either packaged for a site-finished installation is completed, or in the factory. The manufacturer must also carefully monitor the moisture content, so that the product does not distort during transport and storage. Most solid wood take to reduce cupping absorption bands. Absorption bands are easily cut grooves in the back of the wood that run the length of each plank. Continue reading
